How many counselling sessions does CVAP cover?
The number of sessions depends on your specific claim and eligibility (victim, family member, or witness). CVAP typically authorizes a set number of hours; if further healing is required, your Registered Clinical Counsellor can submit a clinical report to request additional sessions on your behalf.
While a doctor’s referral is not always mandatory to start the process, having a physician or police report can strengthen your application for CVAP benefits. Once you have your claim number, you can book directly with us.
Yes. While there are typically time limits for applications (usually one year from the date of the crime), CVAP does grant extensions in many cases especially if the victim was a minor or if there are significant reasons for the delay.
